Thank You!!

Greetings Traveler.
No, you haven't reached an unintended web page, you have just been redirected to my newest page. My old racing page is gone but I have kept the address and redirected it. Not that my new page is anything new about me, just gave me a good little place to share my inner thoughts and feelings. I use them in my day to day life, always looking for the balance between trying to live in a place I know is not my home, while all the time working toward our real home. I will occasionally feel inspired or directed to share, could be about almost anything. I have some older pictures in earlier posts, feel free to browse around.
Again, thanks for stopping.

Greetings in God's Name! I had the opportunity recently to attend a dear friends baptism of their beautiful daughter, truly a gift from God. The baptism was at Saint Bernard Catholic Church.

I was really excited about going, both for my friends shared joy in this gift, and also in having spent time reading the words of St. Bernard and knowing of his rich history, I knew this would be a treat for me. I have really embraced the opportunity to get out and look at the details of the churches and temples around the world. There are lots of details in the buildings, paintings, statues, fine-carved mason work, stained glass windows and more than I can detail. Suffice it to say, my journey is really exciting and filled with subtle reminders.

As I looked at all the beauty in this place of Gods worship I was almost immediately attracted to the painting on one of the numerous panels in the ceiling that was just what I knew would be there. The image of a Knight being Blessed by St. Bernard. What a truly beautiful church. I know the pictures are a bit blurry, but it was a high ceiling and out of respect I would never use a flash. I tried to enlarge and enhance it a bit. Sorry for the quality, but I am sure you get the idea.
It was truly a Joy filled and Blessed Service. I was welcomed by the church with open arms.

I appreciate the opportunity to share with those that take the time to stop.
Let those that seek, Never stop seeking...

Blessed Christmas Greetings, In the name of God.
Jesus has Come. This is the time when the family get togethers and spirits are high. Laughter and joy are being shared by all for many different reasons. Some lights and glitter, some for food and drink. The tree in the picture is a 25' Blue Spruce in our yard, and is the most beautifully decorated tree I can see. All Glory to God. But one thing is true, this time of the year does nice things to people. (for the most part) This really should teach us, the ones that can eat and drink of the merriment, and will have a log on a fire to stay warm on this cold eve, that the more important thing is: "What can I give?" What can I do for the one with no food. What can I do for the one with no drink. What can I do for one with no log???
Jesus Christ Almighty was ordained by our Father. His only Son, to come to save us from ourselves. Offered up to be Crucified so we could drink from the cup of life. If all you have to give is the Word of God... would that be a gift enough?
Father thinks it is. Spread the Good News. The Good News is the Cross. Carry it like Christ did.
God Bless each and every soul. Carry Christ Jesus' birth with you every day. Carry Christ Jesus' Crucifixion with you every day. Carry Christ Jesus' Resurrection and renewal of life with you every single minute of every single day.
Merry Christmas, and Happy Blessed New Year.
In Life and in Life after Death,
Chev. Lydell

National Cathedral

Thanks for stopping in. I just wanted to mention a wonderful event happening at the National Cathedral in Washing DC today. The Cathedral regularly puts on events that are broadcast of their website. If you happen to visit today, December 18th, they are having the following broadcast:

This Saturday, December 18th, at 10:00 AM Eastern Time there will be a special Christmas treat. At that time there will be simulcast Christmas service featuring the Lutheran Christmas Church in Bethlehem (the Holy Land) and the National Cathedral in Washington DC. The priests, choirs and congregations of both churches will alternate in leading parts of the service, which will be in English and Arabic. In Bethlehem, participants will include: Bishop Munib Younan (OSMTH Grand Chaplain General) of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land and President of the Lutheran World Federation, Bishop Suheil Dawani, the Episcopal Bishop of Jerusalem; and the Rev. Mitri Raheb, pastor of Bethlehem’s Christmas Lutheran Church. Participating in Washington will be Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, Presiding Bishop Mark S. Hanson of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America; Bishop John Bryson Chane, Dean Samuel T. Lloyd, and Bishop Richard H. Graham of the Metropolitan DC Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The service may appear on your local television but we know for sure that it will be broadcast live at that time over the web on the National Cathedral's website. You should be able to go there, and click on the service and view it on your computer. Why not take a little time Saturday morning to celebrate an early Christmas in the actual birthplace of the Lord and in our nation’s capital at the same time?

Here are a couple of pictures saved to my folder. The top is me driving for one of the last times in a club car up at the Brainard International Raceway. A beautiful 2.5 to 4+ mile facility in central Minnesota. I had a really good time and really tore up the track. I figured since I could not say whether or not I was ever going to get into a hotrod again, I really went all out. I could tell you about all the passes, and others that I was with were just almost amazed at what they say going past them at a very high rate of speed. I think they said top speed was about 140+ in these little rascals, and I will tell you that I got every piece of that. Good Times!!! The 1981 Corvette was the culmination of years worth of work. I think I have some pictures of it as work in progress, literally, we spent hour and hours massaging the fiberglass to make the nose and tail sections totally seamless with the body. Adding of a L-81 hood scoop, (to the original hood). Carrerra Suspension, every bushing, balljoint, Glass racing rear spring, rebuilt 4-speed, and totally rebuilt 355 CID with the dyno pushed to 475 on pump gas... Roll cage, Kirksey racing seats, with 5-point harnesses. I'll dig around for more pictures and post them down the line.
Happy to say I lived through all that. God Bless all that stop here to ponder and read.
